Last Epoch - Last Epoch 1.0 is Live! - Steam News

Anyone playing LE release? Will be playing as a duo with my spouse as soon as we're done with work today!

Online play might be out of the question toninght. Their server's are getting hammered as we speak - thankfully there's always full offline mode now, but I can see how people would hesitate on using that.
Just a matter of patience I guess ;-)
I am, however, quite impressed with the good customer relations coming from the developer. They're pretty transparent with status updates on the login issues right now. I can respect that alot.

Yeah I've had it in my library for awhile, played a handful of hours and ended up being off today so thought why not? Can't get to online mode, I always figured I'd do online mode when it was released. A shame but it happens. Granted I tried right after I could download it so probably not the best time but I was also curious if something like this would come up. I'm sure it'll get sorted out anyways.

I had a good time playing the EA, I'll have to check out what they added for 1.0. It fills the niche of hack and slash that's better than Diablo 3+, but doesn't require an insane amount of work like PoE.

Edit: Full offline mode is awesome to have.

It looks to me like they added to the graphics crispness and animation fluidity? Looks really, really good now to me.
Also, cannot wait to try out my support/healing Paladin in group play :-)
Hopefully online play will be fully stable in a few hours from now. I managed to log in just a couple minutes ago, yet transitioning to other areas was still pretty broken or lagging(?).

I played a little bit on my Steam Deck during my lunch break at work. 1.0 massively improved controller and Linux support, so it runs on the Deck perfectly out of the box now!

The one thing it's missing is a way to turn in place. Makes precision aiming very difficult with a controller.

Are you playing the native client or via proton? I've read there are some issues with textures on the native client.
in reply to MoreCoffee

I started on the native client, which worked fine, but had no map/minimap or UI selection highlight textures. I just switched over to Custom Proton-GE 8-32, and it fixes the missing textures, but most frustratingly, online play isn't available and offline characters don't seem to be shared between native Linux client and Proton. It also cuts off the sides of the screen (at least when playing docked to a TV; I haven't tried using Proton while handheld). EDIT: This can be fixed just by changing resolution to anything else then back to the default.

So you've gotta choose right from the start whether you want to use the native Linux client and hope things get better or stick with offline-only Proton.

At this point, I've lost my motivation to play, and I'm just gonna wait for a Linux client patch.

EDIT: It's so much worse than I realized. The Linux client doesn't have Steam Cloud, so switching to Proton deletes your characters permanently. I lost 5 hours of gameplay that I can't get back, and because I'm past the 2-hour limit, I can't refund it through Steam.

I hope the gameplay is a bit more fluid and polished from Early Access. I had a good time, shortly after multiplayer was added, but it wasn't as smooth as I'd like. Abilities getting eaten, inconsistent movement skills, things like that.
